Description

The Cadmium Yellow pigment is handcrafted using a traditional 19th century precipitation method to create a rich deep yellow pigment.

The pigment is strongly opaque, has good covering power and reasonable tinting strength.
Cadmium pigments are very stable and heavy which leads to moderate granulation.

This pigment also has the wonderful quality of a varying tone when diluted out with water, ranging from a warm golden yellow when concentrated to a lovely light lemon yellow when diluted, making this a very dynamic paint to work with.

* We use a mixture of historic and contemporary techniques to produce each pigment used in our paints *

The Method: 

| We grind each pigment with a binder, which consists of the finest Gum Arabic, Organic Honey, Glycerin and Water.

| Over the course of 2-3 weeks, this mixture is poured into half-pans. This results in an exceptional quality paint with a truly unique colour experience.

| The Alchemical Arts uses historic and traditional methods when preparing our pigments. This makes for a very organic colour range with highly authentic results. Each pigment takes on its own unique subtleties, richness, handling and optical qualities.
