What We Do
ONLINE COURSES:
The Alchemical Arts Academy is a place where you can learn Archaic Crafts and Long Forgotten Trades, with our debut course The Complete Guide to Watercolour Paint Making. Future courses in Natural Pigment Making, Creating Traditional Lake Pigments, plus many more are on the way.
IN PERSON WORKSHOPS:
We are currently running 2-day workshops teaching people the incredible art of Watercolour Paint Making in a friendly and intimate setting. Participants learn all the skills needed to make their own paints as home while getting hands-on experience delving into all the processes, leaving the workshop with a selection of their own handmade paints.
HANDMADE WATERCOLOUR PAINTS & PIGMENTS:
By using traditional and arcane methods of preparation, we are able to produce very special and interesting pigments. These pigments are then used to produce our own extra fine and highly pigmented watercolour paints — with an emphasis on historic and unique colours.
Each colour is hand produced in small batches from scratch, using the finest raw materials to produce a truly unique colour experience. We strive to provide artists with an intimate and traditional handmade experience to further deepen their relationship to their materials.
In a nutshell, The Alchemical Arts exists to encourage artists to develop a more intimate relationship with the paints and pigments they use to create everything from a mere stroke, to an entire masterpiece.
Meet the Maker
Jeremy Parker is the founder, head alchemist, colour-maker, and brains behind the Alchemical Arts.
His passion for the relationship between colour and alchemy began as a deep interest which lead to years of intense research. He quickly began to notice that he wasn’t the only one who found the fusion of alchemy and colour a fascinating mix. Yet there was very limited information to be found on the subject. In fact, aside from the odd philosophical musing, there is little more than a huge void.
This was the reason why he started to put together a range of videos that follow his journey from colour-enthusiast to professional colour-creator.
The Alchemical Arts was thus born to ensure that this incredibly valuable information was not lost for all time.
The very foundation of his work is an attempt to preserve the arcane and traditional methods of pigment and colour making, many of which are historically linked to alchemy.
Modern manufacturing has created a disconnect between artists and their materials and we think this is a great loss to the world of art. It’s our mission to help artists understand where their materials come from and rekindle their interest in the origins of colour.

Jeremy’s background in the Arts and his passion for alchemical literature, appreciation of bygone eras, and reverence of historical methods of preparation ultimately lead to the creation of The Alchemical Arts.
Jeremy is the head alchemist, colour master, pigment and paint maker, plus the creator of all our academic and video content.
Jasmine White
Hello! My background stems from that of psychology, philosophy and digital marketing. I have a deep love of the olde-worlde and long forgotten times, and have essentially been Jeremy’s partner in crime from day 1 of the Alchemical Arts conception.
My role is that of paint making, digital marketing, web design, and all around business management.
